Introducing….MACY JUNE BOYD!!!!

We are pleased to introduce, MACY JUNE BOYD! Weighing in at 7 lbs, 9 oz, Macy was born on March 8th at 4pm.  Our little blessing from above came into this world in her own way and has her own story to tell.

Sunday night was spent wondering if what Ellen was feeling was truely contractions (for Ellen, not Kenny who was sound asleep).  After talking to the doctor, we walked into the hosptial at 6:30 a.m. and quickly found out that we were in early labor and needed to see where the next few hours would take us but in the meantime “walk around”.  As the hours passed and the laps began to add up, we were slowly progressing (to either pitting for four tires and fuel or closer to seeing the birth of our second child).  Around 12:30pm, the “on-call” physician informed us that Ellen was far enough along that we could break her water which would put labor in high gear…the doctor also offered Pitocin to really help things along.

We opted to try some medication, and a very small amount was started around 1:15pm.  By 1:30pm labor was definitely in high gear!  At around 2:15pm, the anesthesiologist came in to start the epidural and ooohhh what a welcome sight he was.  The epidural was in and started by 2:30pm.  Basically as soon as Ellen was knumb, it was clear that Macy was ready to make her appearance.  Within 20 minutes Ellen was prepped and with Kenny and Grandma Marks at her side, the delivery process was underway.  After 40 minutes, Ellen officially gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl….MACY JUNE BOYD!

The next couple days were spent in the hospital trying to knock the rust off of being parents to a tiny being.  On Wednesday, March 10th (the “official” due date) we arrived at our home with Macy ready to begin the adventure of raising Taylor and Macy.  Taylor was instantly curious and has been a wonderful big brother…so far.  Grandma and Pop Pop Marks have been a huge help and visits from the Austins and Robenhorsts have helped keep the little man, Taylor, pre-occupied and not feeling any loss of attention

We look forward to what God has planned for our family of four and will continue to update everyone with pictures and stories of all the adventures of Taylor and Macy.  Stay tuned and send us your comments, suggestions and supportive thoughts as we continue our parenthood.

Today is the Day?

Well, it’s 11:45am and after a long morning, it appears that Baby Boyd will be introduced sometime today.  Our morning started around 5am as small contractions began and prompted Ellen to “make the call”.  Since then it’s been slow going.  This baby will defintely get the “I was in labor for ___ hours” when she/he begins to act up.  Stay tuned and hopefully, we’ll be able to have some pictures of the little one before tomorrow.
